An exceptional Art Deco carved red Prystal Bakelite bangle, beautifully translucent with rich ruby tones that glow warmly in the light. The elegant domed profile is finely shaped, showcasing the depth and clarity that make Prystal such a desirable and scarce form of early Bakelite. This piece presents superbly, with a soft, even aged patina and only the most minimal surface wear consistent with its age. There are no cracks, chips, or repairs, making it an excellent example of high-quality American Art Deco jewellery from the early 20th century. Prystal was the trade name used for a transparent form of Catalin, produced by the American Catalin Corporation and offered in a limited range of colours, with red among the most sought-after.
