A superb Moorcroft limited edition display plate featuring the iconic Sulphur Crested Cockatoo design by celebrated Moorcroft designer Rachel Bishop, produced in 1995 exclusively for Australian collectors. The beautifully tubelined decoration portrays a magnificent white cockatoo perched amongst flowering eucalyptus, the vibrant red gum blossoms and flowing foliage set against a rich blue ground. The finely detailed tube-lined outlines and hand-applied glazes create the depth and colour intensity for which Moorcroft pottery is internationally renowned. This 10-inch plate forms part of a strictly limited edition of 350 pieces, with this example numbered 3/4, clearly marked to the base along with the Moorcroft factory marks and Made in England stamp. The base also carries the painted initials of the Moorcroft decorator and the impressed WM mark. The plate comes complete with its original Moorcroft presentation box and certificate of authenticity, signed by the designer, confirming the limited edition status and Australian commission.
