An impressive and highly decorative Moorcroft Cathedral pattern vase, designed by Rachel Bishop in 1999, beautifully decorated in the traditional Moorcroft tube-lined technique. This striking design combines bold geometric forms with rich symbolic imagery, including a radiant starburst above a praying figure and the Tree of Knowledge entwined with a serpent. The composition reflects themes of spirituality, creation and divine guidance, rendered in vivid glazes and finely outlined raised tube-lining. The colours are deep and luminous, with strong blues, greens and warm golden tones creating dramatic contrast and depth across the surface. The intricate decoration wraps around the tall elegant form, making the vase visually impressive from every angle. Rachel Bishop is one of Moorcroft’s most respected designers, known for her distinctive narrative designs and complex compositions. Her work helped define the artistic direction of Moorcroft in the late twentieth century, combining symbolism and storytelling with the pottery’s traditional craftsmanship. The base bears the Moorcroft mark for Stoke-on-Trent, England and is personally signed by Rachel Bishop, confirming the authenticity and desirability of the piece. Large examples of this design are far less common and make exceptional display pieces. Presented in excellent condition with strong colour and crisp tube-lined decoration. Dimensions approx.: 42 cm high x 15 cm diameter. Moorcroft Pottery, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Cathedral pattern designed by Rachel Bishop, 1999.
