A beautiful Moorcroft Illyarrie vase designed by Emma Bossons and produced exclusively for Australia in 2001. The vase features a striking raised tube-lined design inspired by the Australian Illyarrie flower, rendered in vibrant tones of red, yellow, green and blue against a rich deep cobalt ground. The decoration is finely executed in the traditional Moorcroft technique, with bold sculptural tube-lining defining the flowers and foliage and rich hand-applied glazes giving depth and brilliance to the design. The vivid colour palette and flowing natural forms create a strong decorative presence while retaining the distinctive craftsmanship for which Moorcroft is internationally renowned. To the base are the impressed and painted Moorcroft marks reading Moorcroft Made in Stoke on Trent England, together with the WM monogram for Walter Moorcroft. The piece also bears the painted date mark for 2000, with the design released in 2001 for the Australian market. The vase remains in excellent condition and is presented in its original Moorcroft presentation box.
