An impressive Art Nouveau slag glass table lamp by EF & EF Industries, featuring a richly cast metal frame and warm amber slag glass panels. The lamp is constructed with a substantial sculptural base, decorated with flowing organic scrolls and stylised floral motifs typical of Art Nouveau design. Rising from the base are vertical cast supports enclosing elongated slag glass panels, which emit a soft, atmospheric glow when illuminated. The upper shade is multi-faceted, with matching amber slag glass panels framed by ornate pierced metalwork, creating a striking contrast of light and shadow. The lamp operates on a low-voltage system with a stepped rotary switch at the lamp holder. Turning anti-clockwise activates the top section only, then the lower section only, then both sections together, before returning to off. The switch does not engage when turned clockwise. This graduated lighting feature adds both practicality and visual interest. The metal surfaces display a deep, aged patina that enhances the sculptural detailing, while the slag glass panels present beautifully with consistent colour and translucency. EF & EF Industries was an American lighting manufacturer active during the early to mid-20th century, best known for producing decorative lamps inspired by Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts design. Their work often combined heavy cast metal bases with slag or coloured glass panels, offering an accessible alternative to earlier European and Tiffany-style lamps while maintaining strong visual impact and craftsmanship. EF & EF pieces are now well regarded for their quality, character, and distinctive styling. Dimensions approximately: 60 cm high; shade diameter 38 cm; base 20 × 20 cm.
