Exceptional Pair of Old Large solid genuine Amber and Solid Silver Cufflinks

A Huge Pair very Old genuine Solid Amber Cuff Links with solid European Silver clips to rear. The natural amber, is the sap from Conifers, circa 40M years ago, but they are probably extinct now. The Amber frequently has natural inclusions including insects, and these cufflinks also have a small yellow spot, called egg yolk Amber to each cufflink. The cut of the solid Amber has been done to try and closely match each of the pair. Amber in Europe is synonymous with Gold and sold by weight. The Solid Silver Hallmarks are quite clear, even though rubbed from age. The Silver is shown as 875 and with marks of very early Soviet manufacture. The 875 is slightly less than the Sterling or other European Silver of 925 rating. The 50pts difference is probably Nickle so the metal is harder and does not oxidise to black as easy as purer silver of 925. Dimensions approx.: Amber 2.8cm x 1.8cm x 0.8cm thick.
