An exceptional pair of circa 1930s French Art Deco seated panther bookends in opposite poses, finished in gold and bronze lustre. Each panther is finely modelled with naturalistic detail and mounted on polished yellow onyx bases. Signed Tedd in relief to the tails. Tedd was a French sculptor active during the interwar period, producing high-quality decorative animal bronzes and spelter works, often mounted on marble or onyx bases.
