A beautifully produced Artis Orbis collector’s plate by Goebel Germany, featuring the celebrated Art Nouveau design Brunette, 1897 by Alphonse Mucha. The centre presents the elegant female profile typical of Mucha’s work, richly detailed with ornate jewellery and flowing hair, framed within a finely decorated border of stylised Art Nouveau scrolls and shell motifs highlighted in gold. This piece forms part of the Goebel Artis Orbis Masters Collection, created under licence from the Mucha Trust and VG Bild-Kunst, Bonn. The plate is produced in fine porcelain with exceptional printing and gilded decoration that reflects the graceful and highly decorative style for which Mucha is renowned. To the reverse are the printed Goebel Artis Orbis marks together with the Mucha signature and title Brunette, 1897. The plate is individually numbered 853 from a worldwide limited edition of 2,000 pieces and is accompanied by the original certificate of authenticity dated 11.04.2001, along with the original Artis Orbis presentation box and booklet.
